Dror Morag- Secretary General of the World Union of Meretz
Secretary General of the World Union of Meretz since June 2006. At the same time filling the position of Merezt International secretary; also, serving as the chair of the young Meretz executive board.
Born in Jerusalem and currently lives in Tel-Aviv. 29 years old. These days, graduating his master's degree at the TAU Public Policy department in conflict resolution and mediation.
Graduated his BA in international relationship and Islamic studies at the HebrewU.
An active member of Meretz since 2003. A member of Meretz executive board and Meretz convention.
Graduated from “Ha’Machanot Ha’Olim” youth movement and a formar member of Garin Tavor , Nachal.
Jewish Agency emissary (“Shaliach”) for the conservative movement summer camps (Camp Ramah, Wisconsin) at the years 2000-2002 and 2004-2005.
The Secretary General role is to be the executive of the branches work in Israel, support their local actions, advice, produce Zionistic activities at the branches abroad, represent the World Union at the national institutions in Israel such as the presidency of the Hava’ad Hapoel and the GA of JNF, run the admonition of the organization, create Zionistic activities in Israel, be the representative of the World Union at the party and vice versa and to call the institutions for deliberations.
Joanne Yaron- Head, North America-Australia Desk
Joanne Yaron is a founding member of Ratz, Meretz and now the New Movement Meretz, serving as a member of the party's central council and later convention ("veida") throughout the years. Currently also serving as Head of the World Union of Meretz (WUM) North America-Australia Desk, and as a member of the Meretz Women's Forum Executive Council and a member of the Meretz Constitution Committee. Joanne served as a Meretz member of the Ramat Gan City Council from1995-2000. She is also active in women's rights issues and is a founding (1978) member of the Tel Aviv Rape Crisis Center and Israel Women's Network (1984). Joanne is, as well, active in American politics since 2004, serving as Vice Chair and now Chair of Democrats Abroad-Israel. Joanne immigrated to Israel from the USA in 1962 and worked as a freelance journalist and as editor of the "Israel Export Journal". She established her own writing, editing and copywriting office in 1980. Joanne has an M.A. in International Relations, Columbia Univ., and a B.A. in Communications and Political Science, Syracuse Univ. She is married plus 2 adult children and 2 small grandchildren.
